Three beaches, three provinces: Beach cleanups across the Amazing Thailand Multi-Racing Festival 2026
October–December 2026 · Songkhla · Phuket · Hua Hin
From October to December 2026, the Surf & Ocean Foundation, together with the Thailand Surfing Federation and led by Foundation President and Federation Chairman Chanin Aiyarak, is running the Amazing Thailand Beach Clean Up at all three stops of the Amazing Thailand Multi-Racing Festival 2026, organised by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT): Chalatat Beach in Songkhla, Patong Beach in Phuket, and Khao Takiab Beach in Hua Hin, Prachuap Khiri Khan.
Stop 1 — Songkhla (24–25 October 2026). The series opened at Chalatat Beach during Songkhla Beach Life 2026, a festival that brings together water sports, music, and beach lifestyle. Its highlight was the Stand Up Paddle (SUP) competition, run by the Thailand Surfing Federation. Athletes, festival-goers, and local volunteers walked the length of the beach collecting waste before and after racing — returning the competition venue to a clean state and setting an example of how coastal events can be run responsibly.
Beach cleanups connect sport with ocean stewardship, the heart of the Foundation’s mission, and support the UN Sustainable Development Goals we work towards — SDG 14 (Life Below Water), SDG 13 (Climate Action) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) — through collaboration with TAT, sports associations, and local communities.
Chalatat Beach holds a special place for the Foundation. In January 2022, the Foundation and the Federation led a major restoration day here with the Department of Marine and Coastal Resources, clearing 622 kg of waste. Returning in 2026 continues that long-term commitment to Thailand’s coastlines.

Restoring Samila Beach, Songkhla
January 2022 · Songkhla
In January 2022, the Surf & Ocean Foundation — together with the Thailand Surfing Federation — led a major beach-restoration day at Samila and Chalatat Beach in Mueang Songkhla. Working in partnership with the Department of Marine and Coastal Resources (Office 5, Songkhla), the Songkhla Tourism and Sports Office, Songkhla Municipality, Thai-MECC, ISOC Songkhla, PTTEP, the Songkhla Provincial Sports Association, and Haad Thip PCL, and joined by around 200 local volunteers, the day cleared 622 kg of waste from the shoreline.
Sorted using the International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) data card, the collected waste was mostly bottle caps, drinking straws, plastic fragments, and fishing nets, along with organic debris — a clear snapshot of the pressures facing Thailand’s coastlines, and of why community-led cleanups matter.
